There is some overlap between the career opportunities for the two subjects. However, after getting a degree in exercise science, graduates can choose a career path in fields such as teaching, nutrition, therapy, coaching and research. A physical education degree usually leads to teaching PE or coaching.

In a certain sense, Sports and Exercise Science graduates are likely to have more of an opportunity to work with the community on a broader scale (e.g., research related to the field, or consulting work to create healthier communities). Physical Education graduates are more likely to work with people more closely.

Hope this helps,

Rob.
