The study of Medicine at university not only teaches clinical science and professional skills, but places a heavy emphasis on team work, empathy and cultural competency. As your study progresses, you will acquire an extensive knowledge of the medical and health sciences and how to use your knowledge in a clinical setting. Toward the end of your study, you will also have the opportunity to choose an area of specialisation. In order to study Medicine, students must first complete a year of a Health Science degree. After the first year, the best students are chosen to go onto Medicine whilst the rest are left to continue Health Science.
