Medical Physics and Imaging Technology is concerned with the application of physics concepts, theories and methods to medicine.

Medical Physicists often work in hospital and university departments in the field of diagnostics and radiology. This is where Imaging Technology comes into play. Imaging Technology is used in the medical field to create images of the human body. This is used as a non-invasive way to reveal and diagnose disease.  

The degree can be studied in various forms through a range of tertiary providers including a Bachelor of Health Science, a Bachelor of Applied Science, a Bachelor of Medical imaging and a Bachelor of Technology. These degrees incorporate a mixture of theoretical and practical learning, with compulsory placements part of the training. Students are taught to be inquisitive, empathetic and adaptable in order to cope with diverse situations in the workplace.
