Jewellery Design » Overview

If you are a jewellery connoisseur and think of yourself as a creative individual, why not try a course in Jewellery Design?
Jewellery Design

Jewellery Design is the art of creating concepts for the construction of jewellery. Before an item of jewellery is produced and worn as ‘functional art’, jewellery designers conceive multiple concepts, test various materials, and create prototypes.

In the study of Jewellery Design, you will learn the traditional and contemporary methods of jewellery construction through a balanced mix of theory and practice. Jewellery Design is a hands on degree and many tertiary providers require compulsory studio workshops where you can bring your designs to life through manufacturing products yourself.  Word class jewellery designers run many of these workshops, teaching you the tricks of the trade by offering insider experience.

Jewellery Design can be studied under a Bachelor of Applied Arts, or as a standalone qualification such as a diploma in Jewellery Design. New Zealand is renowned for its young designers, so if you have a passion for Jewellery design, this is the subject for you.
