Culinary Arts courses are often taught under the title of hospitality because food and beverage is considered to be an area of specialisation within the hospitality industry.

If you are considering studying Culinary Arts at tertiary level it is important that you consider which area you would like to end up in: would you like to be a chef, or work in a commercial kitchen? The reason being, certain tertiary institutions offer courses that specialise in specific areas. Alternatively, if you are not yet sure which area of cookery interests you, other institutions offer general courses in cookery.
