Baking and patisserie courses are designed to add to your existing cooking knowledge and skills and to start you on your way to becoming a Baker.

There are so many different kinds of baking products that are available on the market, therefore, learning will never get boring. You will study traditional and advanced techniques from learning how to create cakes, sponges, pastries and rolls, to decorating, filling and glazing.

New Zealand has a growing reputation for its cuisine and therefore needs a supply of qualified Bakers. Being a Baker doesn’t just mean you’re able to create nice food.  Studying Baking and Patisserie means you’ll learn communication skills, how to work in a team and how to work well under the pressure of deadlines.

Many Baking and Patisserie courses combine theoretical learning with hands on experience and you are likely to have a trial of what it’s like to work in a business while at University. If you have a passion for food, and are pedantic in your presentation, Baking and Patisserie could be for you.
