Agribusiness » Overview

Want to combine your passion for agriculture with the world of commerce? Study agribusiness to strengthen your skills and knowledge of managing and operating a business in the agriculture sector.

Agribusiness is the study of businesses involved in food production, including farming, seed supply, farm machinery, wholesale and distribution, processing, marketing and retail sales. With nearly half of New Zealand’s export receipts coming from the agriculture sector, Agribusiness prepares students for leadership in this industry.

Due to the significance of New Zealand’s agriculture sector there is a high reliance placed on participants in the agriculture business to understand the operation of competitive global markets, sustainable farm systems, international marketing and the management of complex supply chains. You can expect to build knowledge and skills in areas of management and economics that are of particular relevance to the agribusiness sector.
