The University of Auckland Chancellor's Award for Top Maori and Pacific Scholars was established in 2001 and are funded by the University of Auckland.

The purpose of the award is to recognise and reward the academic achievement, cultural participation, all-round ability and leadership potential of Maori and Pacific students from New Zealand secondary schools.

The Scholarship covers tuition and compulsory fees, as well as $2,500 or accommodation in the first year of study. Tenure of the award is up to three years.
