University of Auckland Alumni Scholarship
Value: $2,500 per year
The University of Auckland Alumni Scholarships were established in 1997 by the University of Auckland and the University of Auckland Foundation.
The scholarships aim to assist secondary students entering the University who, due to financial hardship, may not otherwise be able to undertake tertiary study.
The scholarships are offered to students who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, currently in Year 13 at a New Zealand secondary school and intending to enrol in a full-time degree programme at the University of Auckland in the following year.
Successful candidates will be chosen based on nomination by the applicants' school, academic merit, motivation to succeed and financial hardship.
Tenure will depend on the recipient's academic achievement; renewal of the reward is contingent on the recipient achieving satisfactory grades in the prior year of study. If the student meets this requirement, the scholarship will continue for the duration of the first undergraduate degree.
