The Te Pua Wānanga ki te Ao Excellence Award for B and T Semester Enrolments awards were established by the School of Maori and Pacific development in 2011. The awards are aimed to encourage and support Maori students to enroll in the School of Maori Development in the B and/or T semesters. 

The B semester, which commences on 11 July 2011, comprises papers taught over weeks 28-44. The T semester, which commences on 7 November 2011, comprises papers taught over weeks 45-50.

The scholarships are valued at up to $3,000 and are awarded based on academic merit, personal character and involvement in cultural, academic and community life.

The scholarships are intended to support the recipients in meeting course-related costs (e.g., study materials, living costs, etc.).
