RNZAF University Officer Scholarship

In order to apply to the RNZAF:

  • you must be at least 17 years of age on the date of enlistment
  • have achieved 90 credits in NCEA Level three and a minimum of 18 credits on English and Mathematics at Level 2
  • have New Zealand citizenship
  • be physically fit
  • pass an RNZAF interview and a four day selection board.

RNZAF Officers require the qualities of leadership and discipline, combined with an educational background in order to meet the managerial needs of the NZAF. Successful candidates will attend Massey University in Palmerston North and get paid a wage while studying. In addition, you will be loaned a laptop, be provided with Internet access and have all of your fees paid. Even better, you will even be accommodated and provided transport to and from University.

Future careers in the RNZAF (once a degree has been completed) include:

  • Air Warfare Officer
  • Human Resource Officer
  • Communication and Information Systems Officer
  • Psychologist Officer
  • Engineering Officer
  • Intelligence Officer
  • Training and Development Officer

After graduation, candidates will complete 22 weeks of training in areas such as RNZAF customs, drill and parades, Military law, Field skills and weapons training, defense and strategic studies, communication skills, command, leadership and management.

One this is completed, candidates will be able to begin their Air Force full-time career.
