Prof Ren Jizhou Scholarship

Professor Ren is the leading advocate of pastoral farming in China and foundation director of Gansu Grassland Ecological Research Institute (GGERI). GGERI is part of the Trade for Training Scheme in China. In recognition of the contribution made by Professor Ren, the Professor Ren Jizhou Scholarship will be awarded to assist Chinese students or scientists to study in New Zealand for New Zealand students or scientists to study in China.

The scholarship is open to:

  • Full-fee Chinese students enrolled full-time for either a first degree or a postgraduate degree or diploma in Applied Academic Programme disciplines relevant to agriculture or horticulture at Massey University.
  • Visiting Chinese scientists or students who intend to work in the College of Science at Massey University on a topic relevant to New Zealand agriculture or horticulture.
  • New Zealand scientists or students based in the College of Sciences, Massey University who intend to visit China to engage in work of value to New Zealand agriculture or horticulture

The scholarship will be awarded annually with a value determined each year from the interest earned on the capital accumulated under GGERI. Successful candidates will be chosen based on recommendation of the Applied Academic Programme Scholarships Committee and shall be awarded based on academic merit.
