The High Achiever Scholarship is designed to reward students of proven academic achievement who intend to enrol full-time in the first year of a Bachelor degree at Massey University. Up to 150 full-time or part-time scholarships may be awarded annually. Applicants who are successful in more than one category will only receive remuneration for one category.

• Academic category: school leaver applicants must have achieved a minimum of 20 NCEA Level 2 credits (or equivalent) in each of four subjects from the approved list. A record of excellence in one or more subject areas relevant to the proposed course of study at Massey University and/or a record of merit in several subject areas must be submitted.
• Arts category: School leaver applicants must have attained an NCEA Level 2 certificate at Year 12 and in the opinion of the school, must be clearly capable of achieving University Entrance. Applicants must show evidence of excellence, both inside and outside of the school context, in one or more arts fields (evidenced, for example, by publication, by success in a regional or national debating or theatre competition, by inclusion in an art/design exhibition, or selection in a regional orchestra, etc.) and support by an appropriately qualified person and/or organisation (e.g. director, editor, conductor, teacher/mentor, orchestra, theatre company or society).

This scholarship is open to all applicable first year students.
