Alex Lindsay Memorial award (National)

This award was established by members of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in memory of their Concertmaster, Alex Lindsay.

The purpose of this award is to provide financial assistance to young students on an orchestral instrument whose aim it is to take up a career in symphonic music.

In order to be eligible to apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be under 25 years of age
  • Permanently resident in New Zealand for at least 10 years
  • Performer on an orchestral instrument but not a member of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
