Snapshot

Founded in 2003, the Cu Chi Rescue Station is dedicated to protecting the biodiversity of Vietnam by combating the illegal wildlife trade and promoting the conservation of endangered species and their habitats. It acts as a reserve for wildlife confiscated from illegal traders and hunters, returning rehabilitated animals to the wild and educating visitors about wildlife conservation.

Your Experience

  • Beginning at 9am, a volunteer’s typical day at the centre wraps up by 4:30pm
  • Care for primates, pangolins, otters, Chinese water dragons, monitor lizards and turtles
  • Help to prepare meals, clean the animals' enclosures and change foliage
  • Prepare playground equipment for some of the animals
  • Each day’s tasks will be determined by a schedule and the needs of each animal
  • The evenings are free to relax, explore the area and spend time with the project staff

Inclusions

  • Project Start Date: Sundays
  • Getting There: Transfer from Ho Chi Minh City to An Nhon Tay (approx. 2 hr) included
  • Extra Weeks: Fr $560 per week
  • Meals: No meals included
  • Budget: Allow US$250-$300 for meals not
