What are you studying?

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at the University of Auckland.

Why did you choose this course?

I chose this course because I thought that a career in Medicine would be both intellectually stimulating, allowing me to further develop my interest in the sciences, and also one which would allow me to contribute to the wellbeing of my community.

What do you enjoy about your course?

The aspect of Medicine which I am enjoying the most currently is the clinical relevance of the material we learn - most of our coursewook is accompanied by a case scenario or real world setting, which makes our lectures a lot more enjoyable and worthwhile.

What will help you finish your course?

Being able to stay focused and determined is one ability which really helps in this course - and that goes double for time and work management.

What advice do you have for future students?

When making career decisions, go with what you enjoy. Some of the best advice I've received, is that work isn't work if you enjoy it. Choosing a vocation where work is something you look forward to will make life worth living - or so I've heard.
