Massey provides an enriching campus life beyond the academic experience.
Massey University

Massey University prides itself on the strong academic achievements of its staff and students alike. Over the past 80 years, Massey has positioned itself as New Zealand’s defining university – forward-thinking, research-led and cutting-edge.

Over the past 10 years Massey University staff have received 14 national Tertiary Teaching Excellence awards, which recognises excellence in tertiary teaching and rewards practices that are student-focused and promote effective learning outcomes.

Massey University has a global network of current and past students. In fact, each year the university caters to over 3000 international students from more than 100 countries. The reason why so many students come such a long way to study? The university is internationally recognised as being both innovative and progressive, as well as offering world-class programmes in a vast range of disciplines. Massey has five colleges, under which these disciplines can be grouped: Business, Creative Arts, Health, Humanities and Social Sciences and Sciences.

Massey is committed to providing an academic focus for Maori culture and social and economic development. It aims to retain and develop New Zealand’s heritage, as well as advance its indigenous peoples.

The university has three campuses located in Albany on the Auckland’s North Shore, Manawatu in Palmerston North and in central Wellington. Each campus offers a unique student living and learning experience. For example, Albany and Wellington campuses are located in cosmopolitan cities with numerous cafes, bars, restaurants, galleries and attractions. Whereas the Manawatu campus offers a true student experience, a huge proportion of the population is under 25, creating an ideal balance between student life and social life.
