Hi Jane I was wondering do you have specific characteristics you look for in graduates that you hire?

Hi Samantha,
We advertise all our vacancies here: https://toyota.qjumpers.co.nz/jobs/
Alternatively, you could approach your local dealership if you have a specific role in mind.
All the best!

Hi Jane,

What would a career with Toyota look like after 3-5 years if I start as an apprentice?

Thanks V much.

Hey Jane,

what are the international travel opportunities like working with toyota?

Thumb_toyota_ourpeoplelogo_rgb_v
Hi Jason,
After 3 - 5 years, you would be considered to be a reasonably experienced Technician. As well as an increase in salary, there is potential for promotion into roles such as Technical Advisor, and Workshop Foreperson.
Hope this helps!

Hiya,

Does Toyota have any sales roles available for school leavers?

Thumb_toyota_ourpeoplelogo_rgb_v
Hi Kirsty,
Great question! It completely depends on your role, and the department you are in. For example, one of our Technical Trainers (they train all our Automotive Technicians in the dealerships) here at Head Office went to Japan 3 times last year. Whereas a Service Manager in a dealership is unlikely to travel internationally in their role.
Is there a particular area or department you are interested in?

Hi Tori,
We are always keen to hear from enthusiastic sales people for roles in our dealerships! We'd be interested to hear about your sales experience in a paid or voluntary capacity and also your strengths in interacting with people.

Hi Jane. I have an old injury which makes it hard for me to stand for long periods of time (more than two hours). Would this stop me from being a technician because I think they would probably be standing around cars and looking under bonnets a lot. Thanks

Hi Ben,
You would be on your feet all day moving around the workshop and vehicles you would be servicing. While you wouldn't be standing in one place for long periods of time, you would still be on your feet all day.
Hope that helps!

Hi jane, how exactly does head office interact with the dealership franchises? what role does it play etc.

Thumb_toyota_ourpeoplelogo_rgb_v
Hi Robert,
All our Toyota dealerships are independently owned and operated, and meet franchise standards of service that head office administers. Head Office provides extensive support to every dealership through:
- distributing new vehicles shipped from Toyota factories around the world to NZ
- supplying Toyota genuine parts
- developing and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure Toyota is successful
- development of national marketing campaigns
to mention a few things...
Happy to have a more indepth conversation offline if you are interested Robert.
