Hi Mel,

This may be a silly question, but do you have many opportunities for employment for girls in your company?

[quote=Mort B]

Hi there again,

what are your offers on different apprenticeships and what are the wages if any?

Hi Mort

We offer both electrical and mechanical apprenticships and these are managed proactively via our external training parter, Competenze. We also offer national certifications in wood processing for production operators.

These opportunities are paid a wage and our business supports our apprentices and entry level operators financially with regards to your study, this is all part of the package on offer to new apprentices and entry level operators joining our business.

Thanks for your question.

Hi Lindsay

There are no silly questions!! Everything is relevant and we're happy to answer anything ;-)

As a business, all opportunities are open to everyone, whether you are male or female and all age ranges. We employ a great mix of females and males and ages from 16 to 70!

Our focus is to find highly motivated people who love to learn and progress their careers and are open to further study and learnings.

Cheers

Hi there Mel/

Once I am fully qualified as a carpenter, what would Carter Holt offer me as extra training to make my way up the management scale? Thanks

Hi Mort

We are a wood manufacturer, therefore we do not have carpentry opportunities. If you are looking to become a builder, that is a little different to our business as we supply builders the wood so they can build houses. We are like a wholesaler providing product to a distributor like Carters who then sell to builders and commercial construction companies.

We do offer inhouse training and management courses for people who want to move into management. Our programme is called 'Cutting Edge' and this enables and enhances our current employees to be better at what they do currently and progress into leadership and management roles in the future.

Cheers

Mel

Hi Amelia

Thanks for your question.

We do not have a full graduate programme in place at CHH Woodproducts. We offer graduate opportunities across our business on a national basis for a number of different roles and depending on fit and relevance of the candidate's university degree.

Through that process you would be trained and mentored one on one by your direct team and specific training would be incorporated to help you progress through with your career.

If you are interested in apprenticeships or entry level operator roles within our manufacturing sites, we offer national qualifications and again one on one mentoring and development.

Thanks

Mel

Hi CHH,

What are some locations that you have available for work? I am interested in becoming a machinist potentially.

Thanks

Hi Emily

We have five main manufacturing plants around NZ, two in Northland including Whangarei and Marsden Point, two in the Central North Island including Tokoroa and Kawerau and one in the South Island in Nelson.

You can check out the locations and information about these local communities and regions on our careers site:

Do you have jobs at entry level for people who don't want to work in forestry itself/do you have any support roles or office roles for school leavers?

Hi Sam

Our head office is based in Onehunga, Auckland and within our HO team we do recruit for graduates.

Generally these opportunities are within our finance team (for example Assistant Accountant roles), or within our HR team (HR Administration), some times in our customer services team (phone based customer service reps) and at times opportunities also come up in our sales and marketing teams (for example entry level sales or marketing coordinator opportunities).

Thanks

Mel

Hi Tom

You may have seen my reply to the last post explaining what sort of graduate opportunities we have at our head office in Auckland.

Outside of that, it's not often we have support or office roles for school leavers but they do come up at times.

Thanks

Hi Blake

Thanks for your question.

Our business is manufacturing based therefore unfortunately we do not have opportunities for quantity surveyers.

Hey this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated! ------------------------------------------ http://megasto.com.ua f7rpf9Sg6L
