Tour Guide

Tour guides escort people on sightseeing, educational or other tours, and describe points of interest. Essentially, they show people around an area, and share their knowledge of the site. A good tour guide can make a trip memorable by informing tourists of local history and showing them things that they may not otherwise have seen.

Tour guides can work locally, providing services to tourists on request – for example, in a museum or historical site. Or, they can travel with tourists, taking them from place to place and providing information along the way and assisting them in their travels.

Speaking another language can be useful if you want to be a tour guide, as it is highly likely that your clients will have travelled from overseas. In addition, you should have good interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate clearly.
