Taxidermists prepare, repair and mount skins and skeletons of animals, birds and fish for display, research or study purposes. Taxidermists use a variety of specialist tools, supplies and techniques to carry out their role. The process of mounting an animal includes removing and tanning or preserving the hide/skin, making a plaster mould of the carcass and reattaching the hide/skin.
