Radio Operator

Radio operators monitor, receive and send messages using radio equipment. They may specialise in one area such as, aviation, marine and field radio operations. For example, radio operators working within aviation communicate with pilots via aircraft radio stations regarding altitude clearances, weather changes, and information on landing delays and to offer assistance during flight difficulties. Whereas, operators within the field of marine radio may find work aboard ships and use communication devices to interact with other ships and shore headquarters. Alternatively, they may work on land, sending weather reports and water conditions to vessels.
