Radio Broadcaster

Radio broadcasters introduce music, and present or host programmes on the radio. A broadcaster’s responsibilities will vary depending on the station that they work for. Usually, radio broadcasters tailor their work according to the radio station’s theme. For example, if they are working for a music station, they are likely to provide information in the songs and artists that are featured. Alternatively, broadcasters working for talkback radio stations are likely to report on current affairs.

Another factor that influences a radio broadcaster’s role is the size of the radio station. Smaller stations may not employ the technical and support staff that larger stations do, so the radio broadcaster may have to do their jobs (for example, operate electronic equipment, play commercials and music, etc.).
