Policy Analyst

Policy analysts gather and analyse information to assist in the planning, development, interpretation and review of government or industrial policies. Policy analysts work for government agencies, non-profit organisations and news outlets.

The day-to-day responsibilities of a policy analyst vary depending on the specific nature of their work. However, analysts tend to analyse existing policy and look for areas of improvement. They then offer advise on the best way to address these areas. This may be achieved by compiling statistics, analysing the data, reading reports and combining this information into a report on the issue.
