Onshore seafood processors prepare seafood and seafood products for sale. This includes skinning, filleting, trimming and packing seafood. Once seafood has been caught and brought to shore, it needs to be processed in preparation for sale. It depends on the employer as to what the role entails. For example seafood processors may prepare whole fish for market, or make fish fingers and other ready-to-eat products. In addition to fish, seafood processors may be required to shuck shellfish.
