Mediator/Arbitrator » Entry Pathways

Courses in dispute resolution and mediation techniques are recommended. Those wanting to become a mediator/arbitrator for a government organisation may find legal, social work, counselling or business qualifications useful.

Training courses are available in some organisations, but many skills are learned on the job. Mediators/arbitrators regularly attend courses and seminars to keep up to date with new approaches in dispute resolution, and may do distance learning while working.
