Landscape Architect

Landscape architects plan, design and advise on the construction of urban, rural, residential and public landscapes. For example, they are responsible for the design of gardens, parks and other outdoor spaces. Landscape architects also manage and conserve natural or heritage landscapes and public open spaces.

Landscape architects often work in collaboration with contractors, builders and architects. After all, design of exterior spaces has a significant impact on the feel of a building.

Your responsibilities as a landscape architect will vary. However, your day is likely to be split into two main elements: design and implementation. That’s the cool thing about being a landscape architect; a significant portion of your day will be spent outdoors.
