Forester » Overview



Foresters plan and direct the planting, growth, harvesting and protection of forests meant for wood production on public or private woodlands. The role of a forester varies depending on the project. However, they usually oversee the safety and upkeep of wooded areas. They are likely to be responsible for conservation programs, creating roads and providing recreation activities for the public, they also manage timber harvesting for milling and reforestation of areas that have been harvested.

In addition to the above duties, it is also the role of the forester to ensure that all environmental regulations are observed.
