Food and Beverage Manager

Food and beverage managers are responsible for the operation of all food and beverage outlets and services in a hotel or conference centre. Responsibilities include planning the menu, budgeting, placing product orders, maintaining equipment and overseeing the kitchen staff and servers. Food and beverage managers working at hotels will report to their hotel manager.

A food and beverage managers may also be responsible for catering to special events, such as weddings and galas. This involves liaising with the client to determine their expectations, the number of guests in attendance, the schedule of the event and any dietary needs of individual guests.
