They also provide a variety of information, such as external financial statements, to parties outside the organisation. A financial accountant is responsible for preparing the company’s financial statements and ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met. If you are interested in becoming a financial accountant, you will need to be detail oriented, as in financial accounting the goal is to produce reports that are as accurate and reliable as possible.

At the end of a financial year, a company may release statements to stakeholders that summarise business activities for the year. Independent accountants will then verify this information (to ensure that it is accurate), before the statement can be released. A financial statement is an important set of documents, as shareholders, banks and the general public use them to determine the financial worth of a company.
