Electrical Engineering Technician

Electrical engineering technicians interpret designs and technical instructions from an electrical engineer and ensure that they are accurately implemented. They also develop, install, test and maintain equipment that produces, transmits or uses power. In addition, electrical engineering technicians are often called in to assist with the repair of electrical equipment. They are supervised by an electrical engineer or team of engineers, and the role often varies depending on the needs of their employer. For example, they may be involved with the design of a new power plant, inspect generators, or test switchboards for efficiency.
