Dietitian

Dietitians advise patients, communities and groups about their dietary requirements for maintaining good health, managing food services and food and nutrition issues. Dietitians are experts in human anatomy, nutrition and metabolic processes and they apply this knowledge to explain to people what food they should be eating and in what quantities. Essentially, they help people make smart lifestyle choices. Dieticians are employed in a wide variety of settings. They may work in a clinical setting, prescribing specialized diets for patients who have been diagnosed with an illness or condition. For example, people with diabetes can help normalize their blood sugar through diet. Alternatively, they may offer private consultations to clients who want to lose weight, or who are concerned with their health.
