Courier » Overview

Couriers collect and deliver messages, packages and other goods and materials by light truck, van, car, motorcycle, bicycle or on foot.

A courier driver will usually own his or her own vehicle and act as a contractor to the company. A full car driver's licence is required for driving a car or small van. If you would like to be a motorbike courier you will need to take a motorbike test which starts first with the Basic Handling Skills test, then a motorbike theory test. Riders can then follow the quicker CBTA route in order to start as a courier earlier. Courier drivers need good map reading skills and spatial memory, plus a lot of patience if driving in the main cities.
