Conductor

Conductors direct the performance of musicians in an orchestra, vocal/choral ensemble or band. Their main responsibility is to make sure that performers are kept on track during their musical recitals, using hand-based signals that indicate specific parts of the music.

In some organisations, a music conductor is also the leader of the band and is, therefore, responsible for choosing musical selections and organising practice sessions.
