Biosecurity Officer

Biosecurity officers check areas of land for harmful animals or plants and arrange for their destruction or control. Essentially, it is their role to make sure that preventative measures are taken to decrease the risk of transmission of infectious diseases, quarantine pests, and invasive species.

This is an especially important task in New Zealand, where we rely on our agriculture, aquaculture and horticulture industries for our development.
