Animal Attendant

Animal attendants groom and provide food, water and care for animals in kennels, catteries, salons, pet shops, veterinary practices, and research or animal care centres. Their responsibilities will differ depending on their employer. For example, an animal attendant working in a veterinary practice may be responsible for ensuring that all the animals under their care have their dietary requirements met. This can be a time consuming task, especially if the animals require specialised diets due to illness. Alternatively, animal attendants working at an animal groomer will be responsible for bathing animals and improving their hygiene and appearance through grooming.
