Aircraft Engineer

Aircraft engineers maintain and repair the engine, body, cabin, systems, wings, and other parts of aircraft. They work with specialized aviation tools, diagnostic equipment, computers, x-ray machines and power tools. Work conditions may involve working on ladders or scaffolds, long hours working on emergency repairs and managing other maintenance staff.

Once qualified aircraft maintenance engineers are highly sought after around the world and may work for airlines, line maintenance companies, engine or component overhaul workshops, or in the wider general aviation industry.

Employers include Air New Zealand Technical Operations, RNZAF, Hamilton Jet, Airwork and many other aviation industry employers.
