Advertising Account Director/ Manager

Advertising Account Director

Advertising account directors control a number of advertising accounts by co-ordinating agency resources, client requirements and advertising campaigns. In most agencies, the difference between account directors and account managers is very small, but larger agencies may still use both titles.

Advertising Account Manager

Advertising account managers oversee all details of an account within an advertising agency. They usually work directly with clients to discuss their requirements, and ensure that the client receives all of the advertising that they have paid for. Their job can be a bit of a balancing act, as they need to meet their sales goals for the account, but also keep the client happy and stay within their budget. They may also be responsible for the planning of advertising and promotional campaigns to sell products or services to clients or potential clients.

Because the role is so varied, advertising account managers need to be excellent multi-taskers and able to get on well with a wide range of people. Not only will an advertising account manager interact with clients on a daily basis, they also work closely with other account managers, and colleagues in financial, sales and creative departments.
